The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Wednesday announced the Open Rajkot Wall Painting Competition beginning Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), whereby participants will paint on walls across the city.

"The painting teachers and other artists in the city have agreed to participate in the massive project to make Rajkot 'Chitranagari'. We have already done over 6,000 graffiti in the city," said Jitubhai Gotecha, one of the members of the Mission Smart City Trust.

          Welcome to the world of graffiti,it's "CHITRANAGARI". The idea is to have street wall 

paintings on the outer walls of entire Rajkot city. The project will be completed by the end

 of 2018 and nearly 50000 paintings will be done. Different theme related pictures will be

 drawn in different areas. CHITRANAGARI will be Rajkots new identity. It's a project by 

Mission Smart City Trust-Rajkot. Thanks to Shree Jitubhai Gotecha,the founder of this trust & 

creative head for CHITRANAGRI project. And special thanks to Shree Vijay Nehra sir

 Municipal commisioner Rajkot for providing us colors for this project.
